The SpecMAT active target
نویسندگان
چکیده
SpecMAT is a magnetic active target (AT) for transfer reaction studies with low-intensity radioactive ion beams at the ISOLDE facility (CERN). combines two types of detectors: gas-filled time projection chamber (TPC), core detector tracking charged particles emitted in nuclear reactions, and an array auxiliary scintillation detectors in-flight γ-ray spectroscopy. All components are optimised operation strong background field. The TPC has cylindrical shape. Its electron bulk Micromegas segmented into 2916 triangular pads sampling particle tracks. composed 45 cubic 48 × mm3 CeBr3 crystals. General Electronics (GET) used to read out both allowing correlation detected γ-rays events. This article describes its characterisation α-decay 241Am. A spectrum obtained 3D tracks left by reported first such detectors.

the impact of skopos on syntactic features of the target text
the present study is an experimental case study which investigates the impacts, if any, of skopos on syntactic features of the target text. two test groups each consisting of 10 ma students translated a set of sentences selected from advertising texts in the operative and informative mode. the resulting target texts were then statistically analyzed in terms of the number of words, phrases, si...

We explore the capabilities of a robotic sensing system designed to locate objects underwater through active movement of an electric field emitter and sensor apparatus. The system is inspired by the biological phenomenon of active electrolocation, a sensing strategy found in two groups of freshwater fishes known to emit weak electric fields for target localization and communication. An analytic...
متن کاملAladdin's Magic Lamp: Active Target Calibration of the DMSP OLS
Nighttime satellite imagery from the Defense Meteorological Satellite Programs’ Operational Linescan System (DMSP OLS) is being used for myriad applications including population mapping, characterizing economic activity, disaggregate estimation of CO2 emissions, wildfire monitoring, and more. Here we present a method for in situ radiance calibration of the DMSP OLS using a ground based light so...
متن کاملActive target detection in the ocean: optimizing performance and cost
The goal of this work is to design a processor for underwater target detection with superior performance to the commonly used matched filter without the efficiency penalties of the optimal filter. The theoretically optimal filter for active detection in the ocean is a correlator between the received signti and the convolution of the transmitted signal and the impulse response of the ocean. This...
